Together with the 10 Horizon Europe projects forming the SUSTAFUELS Cluster, NIAGARA has contributed to the development of a joint factsheet presenting the cluster’s shared vision, objectives and key challenges in advancing sustainable, low-carbon fuels.
The factsheet outlines the common research priorities across the cluster, including the development of algae-based biofuel value chains, the integration of captured CO₂ and waste-derived carbon streams, and the improvement of biomass productivity, conversion efficiency and fuel performance for transport sectors such as aviation and maritime transport.
At the same time, it highlights the complementarity of the projects, which together cover multiple segments of the sustainable fuels value chain, from carbon capture and biomass processing to innovative bioprocessing and fuel conversion routes, fostering cross-project collaboration and accelerating impact.
